When you need a simple but efficient video splitter that can be used by both beginners and advanced users, you should give Kate’s Video Cutter a try. It is simple to use and has a light interface.
From my experience with this program, I can say that it does a good job when it comes to extracting parts from video files and saving them in the original or another file format. It offers support for video formats like WMW, AVI, MPEG, MP4, etc. and allows you to adjust various video parameters for each of them. For example, if you want to save your work as an AVI file, you are offered access to a variety of audio and video compressors from where you can choose the one that fits your needs. Moreover, you have a preview option that I find very useful.
On the other side, one of the things I didn't like about Kate’s Video Cutter is that you cannot pause the splitting process. And this is important because you will have to start over from the scratch if you are forced to interrupt the process.
In conclusion, my general opinion about Kate’s Video Cutter is that the application does its job well and offers a user-friendly interface. It's a program that I actually like.
